Are Iran and Israel on the brink of a full-scale war? Iran has launched a second attack on Israel, this time on a much larger scale.
Yesterday, Benjamin Netanyahu stated, "The people of Iran will free themselves from the regime sooner than they think." Many interpreted these remarks as going beyond typical political rhetoric. Prior to this, Iran's leader claimed, "A situation similar to the Iran-Iraq War is unfolding in Palestine and Lebanon."
Netanyahu described the coming days as a "critical period" for the Iranian people, asserting that their government has led them to the edge of a "cliff."
These comments came shortly after Nasser Kanani, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, said that "aggression" against Iranian territory means that "if conditions permit and the time is right, we will continue to Jerusalem, right to Jerusalem."
He was referring to Operation Beit al-Muqaddas, which led to the liberation of Khorramshahr. Immediately after the liberation, Israel launched an attack on Lebanon, and at that time, Ayatollah Khamenei, the then-president, urged Mohsen Rezai, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, to send Iranian forces to the region for support. However, Ayatollah Khomeini opposed this, leading the 27th Mohammad Rasulullah Division from Damascus to return to Iran.
